We have a beautiful five-month-old puppy. As any new dog owner will vouch, when you have a puppy, you seem to spend a small fortune on trying out new products! Such as the retractable lead we bought to give her more freedom. These leads have a switch which releases and break the line. Why am I telling you this? ... Because it’s completely counter-intuitive! Surely you would press ‘forward’ to let her go ‘forwards’, and ‘backwards’ to bring her ‘back’? But no! Not this model!
While I’m on the topic of things being counter-intuitive, here’s a few things from the world of training that could also be easily remedied.
I am of course trying to re-train my brain to get the lead setting right, but surely the whole point about this lead (and training) is to make things easier, and to do that they need to more, well, intuitive! Comments are closed.
