Recently I found my husband had left his favourite joke on the white board in my office. Don't ask me to explain it, I really don't have a clue. We think quite differently to each other, yet... every time he gets to the punchline of ‘Boathouse’ and chuckles, it makes me smile too.
It was perfectly timed as later that day I was asked, by someone who wants to get into training, 'How do you deal with 'difficult' participants?' My suggestion is not to 'deal' with them at all, but instead embrace them. More often than not, they are not trying to be difficult, they just think differently to you, and there's something to be learned from this which can help us broaden our development as Trainers. If you’re interested in creating, enabling or enhancing your career in training, why not check out how we can work together. I can’t promise you a boathouse, but I can promise you an insight into my thoughts about the world of Learning & Development which might just be a little different to yours. Comments are closed.
