This is where LEGO® Training Workshops for Professional Groups come in.

If you are an experienced trainer, facilitator, educator, or coach, and you have a few like-minded peers who are also keen to learn about LEGO® activities, or LEGO® Serious Play®, you can take matters into your own hands. Club together. Pick a date that suits you. Choose a location that does not involve three trains and a packed lunch, and make it cost effective while you are at it. It is professional development on your terms. Which feels rather nice, I think.

So, What is a ‘Professional Group’ Exactly?

​A professional group is a handful of people who do similar work and fancy learning together. Just a bunch of wonderful humans with a shared interests.

These 'wonderful humans' could be other trainers, facilitators, educators, or coaches, you may know from networking, being part of the same membership, working together on the same project, or people you keep bumping into at events. 

If they are also curious about using LEGO® in their work, you’ve already got yourself a professional group.  ​It’s that simple. A small circle of people who want to explore ideas in good company.

How does it work?

Firstly, you can get in touch at any point to chat about how it might work, or set a date!

Here’s how things generally play out:

1. See who's interested: Have a chat with peers and see who might be interested & which workshop you want to attend.
2. Dates and Location: Gather some potential dates and locations together. (See location map for area covered)
3. Venue and costs: Look for a suitable venue and gather the costs for room and refreshments.
4. Clarify: Agree on final costs, date and location 
5. Payment: Arrange payments to be made to one person in the group who the invoice will be sent to. (Pay invoice at least 28 days prior to the workshop taking place.)
6. Attend: Rock up and have a wonderful day of self-development!

FAQs for Professional Groups

Who are the LEGO® and LEGO® Serious Play® workshops suitable for?

• These workshops are suitable for experienced Trainers, Facilitators, Educators, & Coaches who have a good understanding of how people learn and who are be able to take a concept and apply it to your own area of expertise.  

Do you have to be certified to host a LEGO® Serious Play® event?

• No. You don't need to be certified to host a LEGO® Serious Play® event.  As long as you can facilitate, and you are following the LEGO® Serious Play® methodology and principles, you can host a LEGO® Serious Play® event.   

​How do these LEGO® Serious Play® workshops differ from other certification courses?

• These workshops are designed specifically for experienced Trainers, Facilitators, Educators, and Coaches, allowing a deeper focus on the LSP method and its practical application.  In contrast, certification courses are open to all levels of experience and prioritize developing general facilitation skills alongside teaching the LSP method, requiring more time and running at a much higher costs.

 
​Do I need prior experience with LEGO® to participate?

• Nope. The LEGO® bricks are a prop to aid learning.  You do not need to have any prior experience of handling or playing with LEGO® . 

How long does the workshop typically last?

• The workshop normally starts at 09.30 and end around 16.30 with several breaks for refreshments and lunch.

 ​What materials or tools are provided during the workshop?

• The workshop kit includes everything your team needs to participate in the workshop e.g. Notebook, pen, LEGO® Kits or LEGO® Serious Play® Start Kit, guidebook, Notebook and pen.

Do I get a certificate after completing the workshop?

• You’ll get a ‘Certificate of Participation’ emailed to you after the event.

 ​Is there any follow-up support after the workshop?

• Yes, there is a 1:1 virtual call (90 mins) that you can book in at any time to discuss an upcoming LSP workshop or recap on the basics etc.

What is the maximum number of participants allowed in a session?

• There is no minimum, but the max number of participants for the quoted price is 12 for the one-day events, and 6 for the two-day event.  However, if you have a larger team, just drop me a line and we can have a conversation.

Where can the workshops be held, and are there online options?

• All workshops are currently face-to-face and can run across England and Wales. (See the map in the PDF above for preferred locations.) I currently do not offer these workshop as an online option.)

Who provides the venue, refreshments, lunch and admin?

• All professional group workshops are arranged by yourselves. 
• Any venue used should have:
  • Plenty of room for moving around
  • Tables & chairs
  • Access to a projector screen from a laptop
  • Parking close by
